  23. I took the time to write the "author", and he responded.  I can't quote
  24. him verbatim from memory, but he explained that he hasn't had a chance to
  25. review all of these documents, which he inherited.  He affirmed his
  26. due respect for K&R, and said he plans to fix this shortly...

  28. So, don't be too harsh on him; we all inherit poorly written stuff.
